The Checco Costa Museum: special preview event

On Thursday 27th June, during Superbike championship week at Imola’s Enzo and Dino Ferrari racetrack, Dr Claudio Costa presented a preview of the Museum dedicated to his father, Checco Costa, as a run-up to the official inauguration scheduled for 1st May next year.

CTI organised a warm welcome for the invitees to this exclusive event with a hostess service and also handled the organisational aspects. For example, we liaised with riders and former riders to manage the donation of memorabilia for the museum collection, which now counts some 70 items; these include the helmets, boots, leathers, gloves and goggles worn by Kenny Roberts, Luca Caldalora, Marco Simoncelli, Marco Melandri, Loris Capirossi, Max Biaggi, Carlos Checa and many others who have written the history of the Imola race track.

The preview received a generous boost from several museums and private collectors who lent some exceptional showpieces such as, to name just a few, Max Biaggi and Valentino Rossi’s Aprilia 250, Daijiro Kato’s Honda, Carlos Checa’s Ducati 1098 Superbike and even Checco Costa’s very own 1927 Guzzi 250 TT. We’ll undoubtedly have the chance to admire them all again during the official inauguration on 1st May 2014!
